How to Open a Speech for Planning Commissions Properly
- 1). Acknowledge your managers and anyone in a higher role than you.
- 2). Ask for everyone's attention and restate the title of the speech.
- 3). Provide the audience with one page of your high-level notes from the speech. Include administrative points that everyone must do in order to make your job easier.
- 4). Directly state your goal for the speech. Explain that the goal is to help everyone in the audience get a higher commission by planning properly. The best way to get people to listen is to put the information in terms they resonate with.
- 5). Provide at least two examples of planning efforts that resulted in higher commissions. Use real-world examples and find ways to translate efforts into dollars.
- 6). Provide statistics for the three highest paid commissions over the last year, 6 months and 1 month. Ask them to share planning tips and name the tips after the three people. Also provide a little background on how long those sales persons have been with the company.
