Way to Attain Inner Peace

India is a beautiful country with several mythological beliefs and cultures. There are several places of religious importance in the country. The Char Dham Yatra is one of the most important pilgrimages that a person can undertake in his lifetime. It is important to take this yatra if you wish to attain nirvana or moksha. Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunorti and Gangotri are the places that are included in this yatra. All of these four places are located in the state of Uttarakhand in India. A visit to Badrinath Kedarnath is known as Do Dham Yatra and is very important for the Hindu devotees and followers of Lord Vishnu and Shiva.

The pilgrimage to Badrinath and Kedarnath starts in the month of April and goes on till November. The Badrinath Kedarnath tour was believed to be initiated by Adi Guru Shankaracharya and a visit to these places is said to wash away all the sins of a person. Badrinath is also known as the abode of Lord Vishnu. The Badrinath Temple was constructed by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. This temple has always attracted the Hindu devotees who have firm belief in Lord Vishnu. The three main attractions of the Badrinath Temple are Darshan Mandap, Garbha Griha and Sabha Mandap. The whole of the temple is sculpted in black stone that makes it extremely eye catching. Due to the presence of spirituality, peace and calm, the temple attracts thousands of visitors from each and every part of the world. There are two hot springs called Surya Kund and Tapt Kund. It is believed that when a person takes bath in either of these springs, it purifies the body as well as the soul. The other important places around Badrinath are the Five Badris and Vyas Cave that are located in the village called Mana.

The Kedarnath Temple is said to be the abode of Lord Shiva. It is located near river Mandakini and is also known for the Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya. Kedarnath is among the twelve Jyotirlings in India and it is believed that Lord Shiva is present here in the form of cosmic light. The temple has the Garbha Griha where the main deity resides and a mandap for the lilgrims. The temple is covered with snow peaks all around.
