Maria Alm, Skiing and Snowboarding in Maria Alm Hochkoenig
Resting amongst the pristine rolling pastures at the bottom of the soaring Steinernes meer and the Hochkönig mountains lies the picturesque resort of Maria Alm.
At a height of 812 meters this snowy village is a sight to behold as you enter the valley in the comfort of our transfer vehicles.
The unique village is one the prettiest in Austria, and certainly the prettiest ski resort you will have ever visited.
Half timber traditional buildings, cobbled streets, and two winding rivers flow through the village to meet here creating a picture postcard scene.
Standing proud in the centre of the village is the Pilgrimage church, the highest in the Salzburg region and no matter where you are in the valley you'll be sure to see its incredible 76 Meter steeple! The villages of Hintermoos and Hinterthall are also part of the Maria Alm area and both can be visited during a skiing day for a lunch or drinks stop off.
In and around the place there are approximately 35 bars and restaurants, something to suit all tastes.
Make sure you try some of the local dishes, they're an absolute must after a hard day on the slopes.
There are three nightclub bars and plenty of places for a good night out.
