There are hundreds of leadership programs for girls all over the world. Some programs focus on leadership development for ethnic groups or different age groups. Some are tied to sports, academics or political life. Programs may stress healthy body image or developing confidence. Whatever the focus, the goal is the same: To provide girls with skills and experiences that help them reach their full potential. - The Alice Paul Institute provides leadership programs for girls in New Jersey. The institute has eight leadership programs, an annual parade, a career workshop, the Girlblazer's Summer Camp, which is located on the 250-acre Paulsdale farm, the Lead-a-Way program for middle school girls and GRAPES (Girls Recognizing Alice Paul's Excellence) for girls ages 8 to 12. The programs teach girls about Alice Paul's suffragist work, provide field trips and special events and help girls develop leadership skills.
