Are Colon Cleansers Really Safe?

The colon is an area of the intestine where the roughage and the waste materials are stored in the body before excretion.
After every bowel movement, the colon area empties itself from the waste materials and the toxins that have been produces as the by product of oxidation of the food materials.
When the colon is excessively clogged, it leads to constipation and other secondary related disorders.
However, studies say that the human body can effectively handle the situation more than any outside artificial cleansers.
Drinking sufficient water can help to overcome this condition.
Also authors say that the colons have no such pockets that tend to accumulate the wasted for over a long time.
The wastes are excreted then and there and in some cases when some kind of unfavourable situation prevails, the excretion might take a little more time and is excreted with difficulty.
Our every day food contains a lot of colon cleansers that is sufficient to effectively clear the colon.
A balanced diet that is rich in carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fats and fibre can keep the body fit and fine they say.
In other words to clearly explain the condition, the fibres in the food ac as a tooth brush to sweep away the dirt from the intestine.
Finally the doctors say that colon cleansers are not required except in some extreme cases when the natural healing does not seem to work out.
In these situations, it is recommended to consult the doctor before consuming the capsules.
These colon cleansers are also rich in fibres but from a different source.
The fibre also plays the similar role as the fibre in our food do.
They say there is nothing very special about the colon cleansers.
Food is the drug they say.
As said earlier, when there is an emergency to fix the problem immediately then colon cleansers can be used to cure the problem.
However excessive usage of artificial colon cleanser can pose damage to the colon permanently.
It can cause small tears and internal damage as well.
For discussions, the role of intestines also has to be considered.
The intestines are not just the waste bins to accumulate the wastes but they are also regions from where the nutrients are being absorbed in to the body.
This is the only place that gives energy to the body.
When colon cleansers are used in this area very often it can lead to mal absorption disease.
In some cases it can lead to dehydration also.
More over no colon cleanser has safety records or have been approved by the FDA.
No doubt, they can fix up the problem temporarily.
But when they are being used regularly it can also lead to other side effects as discussed earlier.
In a nutshell, colon cleansers can be used safely only for quick relief from the trauma.
A diet rich in fibres from approximately 21 to 38 grams daily is in itself a colon cleanser.
Then why to use artificial colon cleanser?
