    Archaeological Ruins of Persepolis

    • The archaeological ruins of Persepolis are about 400 miles south of Teheran, Iran. The site is one of the most important archaeological ruins when it comes to the Achaemenid Dynasty. Constructed in 518 BC, both Darius and Xerxes had palaces built in Persepolis.

    Hazrat Abdol Azim Shrine

    • The Hazrat Abdol Azim Shrine is in Ray, which is the oldest city still standing in the Tehran province of Iran. The tomb of Hazrat Abdol Azim lies here, along with other monarchs. The shrine is the focus of large pilgrimages from around the world.

    Mausoleum of Khomeini

    • The Mausoleum of Khomeini is a memorial for Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The structure lies in Tehran and is open to tourists and pilgrims. A number of features represent different aspects of Khomeini's life and Islam, such as the four towers that are 91 meters tall because of his age when he died.

    Tomb of Hafez

    • Located in Shiraz, the Tomb of Hafez holds the remains of the famous poet Hafez. Hafez lived during the 14th century and is revered as one of the best national poets in Iran. The tomb lies among two gardens on the north side of Shiraz.
