St. Louis Restaurants Near the City Museum

    • The City Museum is located in the Washington Avenue Loft District of St. Louis and has been popular among tourists and locals since it opened in 1997. The museum is fun for adults and kids, with exhibits like the World Aquarium and a shoelace factory. There are a number of restaurants nearby to satisfy appetites after a day at the museum.

    • Lola is a hip gathering spot in St. Louis that is open late, providing drinks, food and jazz and funk tunes. It is open for dinner and for late-night snacking, as well as on the weekend for brunch. Small plates, referred to as nosh, include pomme frittes, tempura fried calamari, mussels pernod, Frenched chicken legs and smoked salmon carpaccio. Main entrees include Creole-stuffed sole, chicken breast marinated in red wine, an 8-oz. New York strip steak and French-cut New Zealand lamb chops.     Sen Thai Bistro

    • Located to the southeast of the City Museum is Sen Thai Bistro. It serves traditional Thai, Japanese and Chinese dishes, focusing on vegetarian and seafood dishes as well as curries and noodles. The list of appetizers here includes fresh summer rolls, coconut shrimp, crab rangoons and four different platter combinations that are perfect for groups. Tom yum and shrimp wonton soups are great ways to start off meals here. Some of the various entrees include: tempura udon, pho beef, seafood noodle bowls, cashew nut noodles, pad eggplant, red curry and pineapple fried rice. Sen Thai Bistro also offers desserts such as lychees on ice or black sticky rice pudding.

    Lucas Park Grille

    • Lucas Park Grille is a vast 8000-square-foot restaurant that was renovated in 2004. It boasts 25-foot loft-style ceilings, three fireplaces and three separate lounging areas. Its decor and hip style helped it earn the title of "Place to See & Be Seen" by Sauce Magazine. The restaurant's list of small plates includes smoked rainbow trout, duck leg confit, crispy fried calamari, bacon-wrapped jumbo shrimp and seared pork belly. Large plates include smoked pepper-grilled pork chops, East Coast lobster rolls, Macadamia-encrusted Hawaiian sea bass, Missouri forest mushroom risotto, vegetarian meatballs and grilled New Zealand lamb chops. Meals can be paired with a glass of wine from a list over 300 varieties.
