How to Wire Snowmobile Decks
- 1). Remove the screws which secure the left rear taillight to your truck and remove it from its socket.
- 2). Turn the vehicle's ignition to the position where the power is on but the engine is not running. Activate the vehicle's marker lights with the headlight switch.
- 3). Connect the alligator clip on the 12-volt test light a ground location near the left turn signal. The truck uses its body for a universal ground so any bare metal with work.
- 4). Probe the left turn signal's bare wires for the power source for the marker lights. The test light will illuminate once you have found the correct wire.
- 5). Connect the positive wire from the snowmobile deck to the power source for the marker lights with a scotch lock connector. Place one wire in each groove of the connector and close the gate. Connect the negative wire from the deck to a ground connection at the light (see Resources).
- 6). Wrap the connections in electrical tape and secure the loose wires with cable ties.
