How to Change the Belt on an Old Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner

- 1). Turn your vacuum upside down and lay flat so the bottom is facing upward. Lay as flat as possible and use a pillow or other prop to assure the vacuum does not fall over.
- 2). Remove the screws from the bottom cover and set to the side. Carefully remove the bottom plate. Look inside on each side of the roller to find the housing holding the roller in place. Remove the screws from the housing. Keep these screws separate and safe. Remove the roller.
- 3). Look at the old belt and locate the motor shaft. Remove the old belt and place the new belt in the groove on the motor shaft.
- 4). Place the new belt in the groove on the roller and place the roller back into place. Screw the roller housing back in place.
- 5). Replace the bottom plate and secure with the screws.
