How to Get My Ex Girlfriend Back - A True Story
It all began one lonely night.
After eating a wonderful tenderloin steak, enjoyed with a nice California Cabernet Sauvignon, I began to thumb through the contacts in my cell phone.
Old names popped up, memories flashing through my brain like machine-gun fire I should not probably endure.
Then her name popped up, and the question came to me on how to get my ex girlfriend back.
Perhaps it was a combination of hormones and the lustfully high alcohol concentration of the wine, or perhaps it was a realization that I had made a crucial mistake so many years ago.
The bottom line, I wanted her back, and now! It began with a series of text messages along the lines of "How are you?", "Long time no talk!", etc.
, but the question still ate away at me like The Raven of Poe, "How to get my ex girlfriend back?".
After texting back and forth, the night wore on.
What started off innocently enough soon turned to reciprocated texts like "I miss you, I miss us", she and I growing closer with each letter typed.
As the clock struck 2:30am, however, I grew tired of typing and asked if I could call her.
We spoke at length about the little things in life, how the weather was, how life was treating her...
We agreed due to the late hour that we needed to speak more often, but not tonight.
"I will call you as soon as I'm off work", I stated with confidence and longing.
The conversation ended with a mutual "I miss you", and into the land of dreams I fell.
The next day went by uneventfully, with this nagging feeling eating away at me.
The tone in her voice seemed strange last night, and although I attributed it to a slightly inebriated misinterpretation, there was still something that didn't...
well, seem RIGHT.
I called her as I said, true to my word, when those dreaded words came out of her mouth.
"We need to talk.
", she said rather pointedly.
"Sure babe, what's up?" "Well, I don't know how to tell you this, but a lot has changed since we were together" The plot thickens.
That sixth sense kicked in, warning alarms screaming in the control room of my mind.
"Well, I know, things have changed a lot on my end too.
I miss how things were, how great we were during the good times.
I dream of us, and those times we once shared together.
" At this point, I had dug myself into a hole with the dirt precariously perched above me.
"Umm...
Well...
I don't know what to say, but I guess this is the easiest way to say it...
I want to know...
umm...
God this is embarrassing...
" "What?" "Can you help me? I want to know how to get my ex girlfriend back.
" I pulled off the side of the road and watched the sunset.
