How to Troubleshoot Wind Tunnel Hoover Vacuums
- 1). Ensure that the Hoover Wind Tunnel is connected to a power supply if the device does not operate. Reset the circuit breaker if needed and allow the cleaner to cool down for 30 minutes if the thermal protector has been tripped on the vacuum.
- 2). Turn off and unplug the Hoover if the cleaner is not suctioning properly. Open the filter bag on the main compartment and change the bag. Change the carpet height setting to a lower setting. Examine the hose and nozzles for possible obstructions and clear them as needed.
- 3). Check the agitator brush roll or the belt for signs of damage if the vacuum is not suctioning, moving or operating correctly. Replace as needed.
- 4). Turn off and unplug the carpet cleaner and turn it over if items appear to be stuck under the bottom plate. Unscrew the bottom plate with a Philips-head screwdriver and lift off the agitator shield, which is located on the bottom of the vacuum. Remove any foreign objects and return the agitator shield and bottom plate.
- 5). Clean the final filter if the air expelled from the vacuum seems dirty. Locate the filter door on the side of the vacuum and lift out the filter. Wash it with cold water and dishwashing liquid. Rinse well, air dry completely and replace it in the vacuum cleaner. The green-colored side of the filter should be facing outward. Close the filter door.
