How to Install a Cold Air Intake in a Dodge Dakota
- 1). Open the hood and remove the air cleaner box. This is the large black plastic box that is attached to the intake assembly that leads to the throttle body. Open the clips on the side of the box to remove the top half and unbolt the bottom half to remove it.
- 2). Unplug any hoses and wiring harnesses that are attached to the intake assembly.
- 3). Unscrew the hose clamp that holds the intake assembly to the throttle body and remove the intake assembly.
- 4). Place the provided rubber coupler over the throttle body and slide the new intake assembly into it.
- 5). Use one hose clamp to secure one side of the coupler to the throttle body and use another to secure the other end of the coupler to the new intake assembly. Mount the new intake in the prescribed location.
- 6). Place the disconnected hoses and wiring harnesses into the holes provided in the new intake assembly.
