- Restasis is a prescription drug and cannot be purchased over the counter. Use Restasis for relief as long as you have dry eyes. Be sure to consult your doctor prior to discontinuing use.
- Use Restasis exactly as prescribed. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, avoid doubling your dosage. If you overdose, wash eyes with water and contact the emergency room or poison control center.
- Contaminating the Restasis dropper can cause eye infections. Do not touch the dropper or place it on surfaces.
- Do not use Restasis while wearing contact lenses and wait 15 minutes before re-inserting lenses into your eyes.
- Do not use other eye drops or eye medications while using Restasis.
