The annual City of Lakes Loppet, the famous cross country ski race that attracts competitors from around the world, is the first weekend of February, this year January 31 - February 2.

The annual Winter Carnival, one of the longest-running festivals in the nation, is January 23 - February 2. The final weekend has family day events, the gorgeous Torchlight parade and overthrow of King Boreas, symbolically allowing spring to arrive, in St.

Paul. 

The most imposing item on February's calendar? Valentine's Day on February 14.
