Why Android is getting more popular than iOS?
If we see Mobile app development statistics then there is not a huge difference between these two platforms. Mobile app developers equally prefer both the platforms. According to an Economics survey in Q3 2013 " 86% Mobile App developers are working on either iOS app development or Android app development"
I admit that iOS is still one of the most popular Mobile OS in the market, and it has tremendous fan following as well, but Android constantly offers extraordinary features to its users to grab the whole attraction of the marketplace. According to facts, at present Android is giving a real tough fight to the iOS. In this growing world so many people are switching to the Smartphones from basic telephone sets, and maximum users are showing their interest in Android rather than iOS. One truth could be the budget gap between these two, but still to support my statement, few people are buying much costly Android phones than iOS phones. I can give you a few examples of Android phones which has got an overwhelming response and that are equal in cost with iOS handsets and few handsets are more costly as well.
Now lets have a look at the features which make Android the most preferable OS amongst available Smartphones.
So, now with all these points in mind which smart phone device would you prefer?

- HTC One Max 32 GB - 63500 /-
- Samsung Galaxy S5 - 52450 /-
- Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - 63248 /-
- LG G Flex D958 Price - 53000 /-
- Nokia Lumia 1020 - 46850 /-
- Sony Xperia Z2 - 48990 /-
- BlackBerry Z10 - 43440 /-
Now lets have a look at the features which make Android the most preferable OS amongst available Smartphones.
Compatible - iOS is compatible only with the apple devices that is iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and iPad Mini, whereas Android is a quite flexible Operating system. It is available to all those mobile manufacturers who desire to use it as their core software, that is Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony, Motorola and many more. I guess, it is the major difference between these, that makes Android most accessible OS in the market.
User Interface -If you have seen the iOS devices interface, it is quite general and almost same since the years. We haven't seen any particular alteration in the interface of iOS, version has been changed but the UI is still identical. And there is no widgets except in notification drawer. And If we talk about Android, It gives an interactive UI with lots of features. It has more than one home screen that may be decorated with widgets and apps. User can easily set up his home screens as per his needs. At the peak it has a notification bar to show every different notifications. Customizing options are simply amazing in Android as you can modify most of things according to you, but in iOS, its different because there is a limit to make modifications.
Economic -As we all know the price range of IOS handsets or device is higher, so its not a perfect choice for everyone and due to this it has a limited scope of customers as compared to android because android handsets are coming with a really broad scope both monetary and function wise. iOS first handset costs approx 17800, the essential thing is in this amount it's not the latest handset. An Android handset costs minimum at 5000, with general specifications, I admit that it's not the latest too. But, it is a huge price difference between these handsets.
Play Store - Apple has his own app store for iOS applications and Android's play store is managed by Google named Google play store. Millions of apps are available in both stores. But, Apple have a strict policy in the approval of apps which is not an issue in Google app store.
So, now with all these points in mind which smart phone device would you prefer?
