Honda introduced the 750cc Aero to its Shadow lineup of cruisers in 2001. The Aero has been one of Honda's best-selling middleweight cruisers since it was introduced. The 2005 Aero was known for its retro classic-cruiser styling, full fenders and low seat height. Among Japanese cruisers, Hondas are considered to be especially well-built and reliable, according to MotorcycleNews.com. - The 2005 Honda Aero had a 745cc, SOHC, liquid-cooled, 52-degree V-twin-cylinder engine with three valves per cylinder. Bore and stroke were 79 mm by 76 mm and the compression ratio was 9.6:1. A single, 34 mm carburetor delivered the fuel-air mixture to the engine.
- The 2005 Aero had a five-speed (one down, four up) transmission that transferred power to the rear wheel via a shaft final drive system. Like most motorcycles, the Aero had a wet, multi-disc clutch.
- The 2005 Honda Aero was built around a steel tube frame. A 41 mm front fork and adjustable dual shock absorbers in the rear provide suspension. A single 296 mm disc with twin-piston caliper in front and a single 180 mm drum in the rear handle braking. The 2005 Aero was available in black, candy red, black/candy red, black/metallic silver, black/pearl blue and metallic silver/pearl white.
- The Aero had a rake of 34 degrees and trail of 161 mm (6.3 inches). The wheelbase on the Aero was 64.5 inches. The rider sat a low 25.9 inches off the ground. Dry weight was 519.4 lbs. with fuel capacity of 3.7 gallons, including a 0.9-gallon reserve. The U.S. suggested retail price on the 2005 Honda Aero was $6,299.
