  The Road King Warrior is a motorcycle in the "performance cruiser" category. First manufactured by Yamaha subsidiary Star Motorcycles in 2002 the Warrior, and a later variant called the Midnight Warrior, were designed to compete directly with large, performance-oriented motorcycles, such as the Harley Davidson V-Rod. Though 2009 marks the last new model release, the Warrior is still available from Yamaha as of 2010.
  
  

Dimensions and Fuel Economy

• The Yamaha Warrior is 93.9 inches long, 36.8 inches wide and 44.1 inches high. Seat height is 28.7 inches. The Warrior weighs 649 lbs. A 3.3 imperial gallon gas tank (3.96 U.S. gallons) and, according to Yamaha, an estimated fuel consumption of 47 miles per gallon (mpg) give the Warrior an approximate range of 186 miles.

  The Yamaha Warrior is powered by a four-valve, 1,700 cc, air-cooled, V-twin engine with electronic fuel injection, making it the largest air-cooled V-twin in production in 2002, according to Motorcycle USA. Improved torque and throttle response come from twin carburetors and a 40 mm downdraft twin-bore fuel injection system. The bike has a five-speed transmission and large diameter "bazooka" exhaust.
  
  

Chassis

• The Warrior is built around an aluminum monoshock frame. Handling and stability are provided by a lightweight aluminum rear arm, an upside down front fork and optimized suspension damping. Stopping power is provided by hydraulic disc brakes (dual front, single rear). Competition-grade tires (120/70-ZR18 front, 200/50-ZR17 rear) are mounted on Supersport-inspired five-spoke wheels.
