Toradol Side Effects
- Many gastrointestinal side effects are common with Toradol, such as abdominal pain, heartburn, indigestion, nausea and vomiting, gas, and diarrhea or constipation.
- Other common Toradol side effects include headache, dizziness, drowsiness, increased perspiration, itching, rash and ringing in the ears. Toradol can increase water retention and can cause or worsen high blood pressure.
- Toradol, like other NSAIDs, reduces the clotting ability of blood, which can increase bleeding after an injury. Additionally, Toradol can cause ulcers and bleeding in the stomach and intestines, especially if used longer than five days. Signs include black tarry stools, dizziness and weakness.
- NSAIDs, including Toradol, can impair kidney function by reducing blood flow to the kidneys. This is most likely to happen in patients with pre-existing kidney problems or with congestive heart failure. Toradol also has been linked to liver failure.
- Toradol can cause birth defects if taken late in pregnancy. It also passes into breast milk and should not be used by anyone who is breastfeeding.
