How to Make a Boat Track Slide

    • 1). Find the bolts that are used to secure the old pads to the trailer bunks. Remove the bolts with the socket wrench. Take the old pads off from the bunks of the boat trailer and set then aside.

    • 2). Measure the skids with the tape measure and make a note of the distance between each bolt hole.

    • 3). Transfer the measurement and bolt hole location to the new Teflon bunk cover. Mark the location of the bolt holes with the felt tip marker.

    • 4). Drill a hole through the Teflon skid cover on each mark with the power drill. Place a bit into the power drill that matches the size of your bolt heads. Drill a countersink hole at each hole location. This allows the head of the bolt to be below the surface of the Teflon bunk cover.

    • 5). Place a Teflon skid cover on one of the bunks. Insert a bolt into the first bolt hole. Place a washer and a nut onto the threads of the bolt. Tighten the nut and bolt using two socket wrenches.

    • 6). Insert the remaining bolts into the holes in the Teflon bunk cover and then tighten. Set the second bunk cover in place and secure with the bolts.
