Effective Ways of Ground mole Removal

The only advantage these species provide us with is that they aerate the soil which means that your soil will not remain in one place and will be able to breathe for better produce. These moles even though give us one advantage, ruin our gardens to a greater extent. They leave visible furrows by digging deep into the soil, damage the plants. These are a few things to a big list of damages they cause. They eat earthworms which are good for the soil and break your lawns harmony. 

If you have seen one mole or hole dug into your garden be sure to see several more in the coming days. Take action against quick before start to expand in number because then it will be more difficult for you to handle them.

Few tips on ground mole removal:

  • Moles have limited eye sight as they spend a lot of time  in the dark but have sharp smell sensations which makes up for their lack of sight. You can use this against them with help of certain scents. Castor oil based repellents can be sprayed all over your lawn and into tunnels that they have dug to keep them away from your property. Mix 2 tablespoons of soap preferably dish soap in a gallon of water and cup of castor oil.
  • You can also plant chocolate lilies or garlic. It has been proved that moles stay away from these chocolate lilies and garlic.
  • If you aren't into killing moles or any kind of animal or insect you should definitely try live traps. After these traps catch the moles, you can relocate them and avoid the killing part. Place a live trap in one of their entrance of the hole and cover the ending with something so that they can't breakthrough it. Once the mole gets into the live trap it definitely won't be able to get out of it.
  • If you are dead sure that you want to kill the ground moles then you should opt for a kill trap. Choose either a reusable or disposable trap. Most common ones are spring traps. How the spring traps works is that when a mole tries to open a tunnel. Make sure to follow all the procedures and instructions given on the trap box or packaging.
  • You can also use bait to lure them and catch these moles. There are baits available which have look of a worm which attracts moles, there are other baits shaped like cones and have poisoned peanuts in them.

 These remedies are sure to eradicate the moles from your garden and make sure they never re-enter your property.
