How To Install a Diesel Performance Chip in a 2001 Duramax

1). Open the hood of the truck and disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
2). Locate the engine management computer, which is either under the dashboard or inside the engine well, and remove the cover. The central wiring harness is attached to the computer with a screw. Remove the screw and carefully pull the wiring harness out of the computer.
3). Plug the performance chip into the engine computer, then plug the wiring harness into the back port of the performance chip. Secure the harness into place on the chip with the screw. Replace the cover over the engine management computer.
4). Reattach the battery cable and close the hood
