Located toward the center of the 400 block of Ann Street in Beaufort, North Carolina, this sign marks the entrance to the Old Burying Ground. As written on the sign, the cemetery was deeded to the town in 1731 by Nathaniel Taylor. The oldest legible marker is dated 1756, although many of the gravesites are actually quite a bit older.
