The Luwan Sports Stadium is a facility that has a 400m track with a soccer pitch. If you or your kids are runners and need a place to work out that is safely away from crazy Shanghai traffic, then this might be an option if you're staying nearby. Even if you just want to walk for exercise, the sports ground is a fun place to go to see Chinese culture in action - it's a place that the whole neighborhood frequents and you'll see everything from granny fan dancing troupes to young people jogging.

Opening Hours:

The facility is open to the public from 6-9am and 6-9pm on weekdays. On weekends, the morning hours are 6-8am in the mornings. The opening hours are strictly held in place as sometimes, especially on weekends, there are soccer matches taking place so the track is opened. However, you can not count on this so try to go during the official times.

Facilities:

Aside from the track and field, there is also a long-jump and high jump area. The jumping areas are used as sandboxes for kids during public opening hours. If you have small kids, you should feel free to bring toys for them to play with at the pitch or in the sand.

There are bathrooms inside the stadium building (no toilet paper).
