Limelite Lodge and Deep Powder Apartments
The Bottom Line:
Editor's Note: This hotel has changed to the Limelight Hotel. Affordable, family-friendly hotel with 63 guest rooms and nine furnished apartments.
What's Special About the Limelite Lodge:
The Limelite provides a all-around value, even if it is not the most fashionable digs. A great location in the center of town gives guests easy access to restaurants and bars (the hotel has none). This former nightclub where the Smothers Brothers paid their dues is still a popular place for bands to crash.
Complimentary continental breakfast, free parking and low rates add to the value. Families will appreciate the Deep Powder Apartments with kitchenettes and daily maid service.
Insider Tips:
- If you want a whole day of skiing your last day, stow your bags at the front desk. They have a shower you can use before you leave.
Guest Rooms and Rates:
Guest rooms at the Limelite Lodge are clean if not terribly stylish, with flowery traditional decor. No balconies, but rooms have large windows with views of Aspen Mountain. All rooms have outside access. Rates start at $69 in summer and $79 in winter.
Pet-Friendly Aspen:
The Limelite Lodge is pet friendly; pets are allowed at no extra charge, and there is a park just outside.
Location of the Limelite Lodge:
The Limelite Lodge is in the center of town, across from Wagner Park. Restaurants, shops and bars are convenient, although the street can get noisy on the weekends. The ski lifts are about three blocks from the hotel.
