Brent - I had visited briefly some years ago, and I always wanted to come back. I RV camped there in May 2005.

Campground Review

McArthur-Burney Falls is located in the Cascade mountains on Highway 89 between Lassen National Park and Mount Shasta. Both are within a couple of hours drive. This a small but beautiful park. The campground is large and sites are spacious. We hardly knew we had neighbors.

We camped on the side of the park furthest from the highway and noticed a little road noise, but there wasn't much traffic and it wasn't distracting. Flush toilets and showers are provided. There's also a small camp store with snack bar near the entrance. Lake Britton is adjacent to the park, and you can fish or rent canoes and paddle boats. The falls are a short walk from the campground. They are 192 feet high and beautiful. Water pours out of springs along the cliff face as well as coming over the top. We found one drawback, the park isn't very big and there aren't many hiking trails in the immediate vicinity.
