Stilettos Meets the Platform

Shoes for Spring are shooting for the stars with super high heels.
Think stiletto and platform combined.
Heals in great heights are coming in carved out heals in all sorts of artistic shapes.
Add lace up sandals and you have an array of fabulously styled shoes.
Christian Dior was a leader with these beautiful lace-up cut out sandals on the Paris Runways.
Not only are these gorgeous but they also had beautiful Spring colors of soft yellow, purple and white.
Alexis Mabille showed an elegant floral lace-up sandal that laced up to the knees.
These were in a soft purple adorned with beautiful soft flowers all the way up the laces.
What else is there? High heels and more high heels.
Lace and cut out ankle boots is a hot item for Spring that will carry through to the Fall.
Very decorative pumps, nothing at all plain.
Wedges are still a big item.
Shoes are looking more like pieces of art then resembling an actual shoe.
Some of them could be put on the mantle.
Pumps and wedges are loaded with embellishments.
Ankle boots are a must have item for Spring.
Yes, you heard me right, ankle boots for Spring.
They have major cut outs, think of a bird cage or are made with lace.
Not you enclosed winter boots but more on the wild side.
All the shoes this season are very embellished with beads, rhinestones, lace, metals and whatever else the designers had lying around.
Metallic's are still in but have softened up so they are not so flashy.
Patent is making a comeback getting ready for a big Fall season.
Where does this leave the consumer? We have all tightened our wallets and the economy is not showing a light at the end of the tunnel.
Retailers are gearing up for those tight budgets.
They are bringing in better values on shoes but keeping that great designer look.
There will be new value lines from Celebrities hitting the shelves.
You will see Fergie, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, Kelly Ripa and Reba McEntire with new lines of shoes.
Are there only sky high platforms? No, luckily.
Personally I am 5'10" and don't want to wear 4"+ heals.
Designers have responded to adding mid heals.
Hurrah! Flat Roman sandals will also be a must have to your collection.
So this is a season of artistic beautiful shoes, nothing boring.
