How to File a Quit Claim Deed in Arkansas

    • 1). Call your county recorder’s office and ask about the deed recording requirements (they can differ by county). For instance, in Sebastian County, Arkansas, the deed must be an original copy, it must be notarized, and it must be signed by the preparer. Ask the clerk for a blank quitclaim deed copy if you do not have a deed that meets the county’s requirements.

    • 2). Bring the completed quitclaim deed into the county clerk’s office and ask the county clerk to record the quitclaim deed. The county clerk will review the deed and check it against the Arkansas county requirements.

    • 3). Pay the filing fee. Filing fees may vary by county. In Sebastian County, the fee to record a deed was $15 (as of 2010).
