More than 90% of the Indians wear eyeglasses for better vision. Since the invention of Bifocals by Benjamin Franklin, there has not been much technology advancement in the Industry of Eyeglasses. Google has come up with eye wear which functions like a smart phone .These glasses can communicate to the internet and understand natural language processing and voice recognition. However with smart phone in a hand and a computer on the Desk Google's glasses did not entice the consumer.
Today with majority of our Indian population spending hours in front of the television sets, computers, tablets and smart phones, the strain on the eyes have increased. Companies like Essilor (Crizal lenses, Verilux ..) and Kodak have been launching new products which can reduce the strain on eyes.

Industry also witnessed the advent of polaroid sunglasses couple of decades back and it saw some of the sunglasses sellers gaining market share by adopting this technology .All that polaroid sunglasses does is blocking at least 50% of the light coming from the sun and also supports ant-glare
