All you need to know about Indian Civil Services

The UPSC or Union Public service Commission is the authorized body for conducting exams from which the government of India selects eligible candidates for working in different posts of the government. They release the vacancy information for these posts and organize the entire procedure of selection. The candidates must apply online and the selected ones will be called for examination. On passing the exam, the candidates will be called for interview and then will be selected for the posts. There are many different posts available for this year. Few of the important posts are Deputy Manager in Delhi Milk Scheme, Assistant Library & Information Officer in National Library, Junior Technical Officer in the department of Food & Public Distribution, Senior Examiner of Trade Marks & Geographical Indication in Trade Mark Registry, Junior Technical Officer in Ministry of Defense, Assistant Professors in the discipline of electrical & electronics engineering, Deputy Controller of Mines in Ministry of Mines, Research Officers in Planning Commission, Deputy Adviser for the discipline of Textiles and Fisheries in Planning Commission, Junior Analyst in Ministry of Science & Technology and Assistant Technical Adviser.

Candidates must meet with some qualification requirements to be able to sit for the Civil Services exams. The lower age limit is 21 years when the upper age limit is 30 years for the candidates to be eligible.The candidates must apply online and the selected ones will be called for examination. On passing the exam, the candidates will be called for interview and then will be selected for the posts. The candidates must be a citizen of India. Candidates must have a degree from any government recognized university. Students of final year can also apply with proper proofs of passing the exams if the results are declared. The government has some physical standards to be maintained by the aspiring candidates. Candidates with good general knowledge, information about current affairs and with interest in general studies have great chances of getting the job after passing the exam.

Candidates must prepare for these exams specially to be able to clear the tests with good results. There are two main papers for the examination which are general studies and optional subject. The IAS Syllabus includes any one of the Indian languages, English, Essay, GK and Current affairs, General Studies and optional subjects which can be chosen from a long list of available subjects. Candidates can follow the official websites for the optional subjects available for you. It will be very helpful for the candidates if they solve sample question paper, which are available online, before the exam and be prepared by completing the syllabus.
