Biography: Asin Thottumkal
Asin Thottumkal is one of the most popular South Indian actress.She has acted in Tamil,Telgu,Malayalam and Hindi films.Her beautiful smile and bubbly characters have made her favourite among the youth.The Sexy actress has also modeled for famous brands such as Fairever, Tanishq, BIG 92.7 FM, Spinz, Parachute, Colgate and Mirinda. After making heads turn, down south, the petite Asin is on her way to make her presence felt all over India. Recognized for her thorough professionalism and - not to mention - her acting prowess, Asin is associated with a few prestigious projects with some of the kingpins of the Indian film industry, Kamal Haasan and Aamir Khan to name a few.
Extracting time from her demanding schedule, she spoke to us on her past successes and future plans, shared her memorable experiences working with the bigwigs and answered lot more posers with her characteristic effortless charm.
At present she is doing four movies in Tamil. Ajith's Godfather directed by K.S. Ravi Kumar, Vijay's Sivakasi directed by Perarasu, Surya's Gajini directed by A.R. Murugadas and Vikram's Maja directed by Shafi are the four movies. A movie with Silambarasan titled AC had to be signed yet.
she entered films while she was in school and got busy soon after and hence she didn't have the time to go to any acting school.
In Telugu, she has commited two movies after the hit of remake of Kakka Kakka. One movie is with Chiranjeevi and the other with Mahesh Babu which is the remake of Ghajini in Telugu. In the Hindi version of Ghajini,she is pairing with Abhishek Bachan which is yet to be finalized. She learn many languages.she achieved such popularity within a short period. But she also have the same desire as others to act in the movies of superstars like Rajini and Kamal.
She dub the voice for her movies, herself. As she have to allocate time for dubbing, she is not able to concentrate on singing. Music director Harris Jeyaraj asked her to attend a voice testing session so that he can make her sing a song in one of his movies. But she was not able to attend it due to her busy schedule. She will certainly sing a song in the near future. she learned Bharathanatyam, Kathakali and Kuchipudi and she have mastered all these skills.

. She shall continue doing movies in Tamil and other regional languages. she developed this habit since she was a child. Whenever she saw an ambulance or hear its siren she know that there is someone inside who is in danger and this act of her is just a kind gesture, not an indication of being pious or religious whatsoever

As for the Ghajini hangover, shecan't do much about it as the character of Kalpana in Ghajini is multi dimensional and no matter what role she play, it is bound to have some shades of Kalpana in it unless it is a completely out of the box kind of character.
