A Thought About the Philippines
As I was watching the documentary about Cory last August 16, 2009, I cannot help but look back to the time of history of how hard was it for the Filipino People during the Dictatorial Regime, and so I look back beyond the Martial Law, there was these "conquistadores" - Spanish, Americans and Japanese.
Where our people has fought long and hard for the sake of freedom.
Our heroes for centuries have risked so much to gain the freedom were having now...
from Lapu-lapu, Rizal, Bonifacio, Aguinaldo, and then comes Aquino.
If you review history, there is a cycle of freedom and yet being enslaved again...
another victory which again ended up to defeat, but then again, its freedom once more.
I have not done so much for this country, and yet I know in some way I can find a way of having something to contribute to the peaceful development of the country.
And so I have dreams...
visions of how I want to see the country in years to come.
What are my dreams for the Philippines? 1.
The Philippines under a good governance.
(greedy people - out) 2.
The Philippines under a democratic government.
3.
The Philippines where its people is always on the watch to fight against graft and corruption.
4.
The Philippines where its constitution values the rights of the Indigenous People, where I believe are the rightful Filipinos.
5.
A Philippines where development doesn't mean displacement to Filipinos.
6.
A Philippines where development doesn't mean destruction of the natural resources.
7.
A Philippines where education is a right and not just a privilege.
8.
A Philippines in abundance and Peace.
If the Filipinos are the government, in unity, there's a better Philippines for all of us.
Being a good citizen, who abides the law and who are keen enough to know when to speak up and fight for justice is a start.
- If we want a better Philippines, it must start with every individuals.
