How to Defrag a Zip File

    • 1). Store your Zip file in a place that Disk Defragmenter can locate it. Keep it on your computer's hard drive (also known as the C: drive) or on an external drive such as a flash drive or CD-ROM.

    • 2). Connect the external hard drive to your computer if the Zip file is stored on that. Click "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories" and "System Tools."

    • 3). Double click on "Disk Defragmenter." Locate the hard drive or external hard drive on the window. Select the drive you want to defrag. Click "Defragment Disk" when satisfied.

    • 4). Wait for Disk Defragmenter to complete the process. It will defrag your Zip file, along with all of your other files and folders.
