How to Make a Ribbon Angel
Christmas time isn't the only time for angels, angels can decorate your home all year round.
Try making your own guardian angel as a wall hanging, ornament or just to set out on the mantel for decoration.
Not to long ago I learned how to make these adorable Angel ornaments, they are so unique and you can make them in any color or pattern.
This ornament took little time and effort to make, no longer then a half hour and is easy enough for any child in grade school to make.
So maybe this summer you and your kids can spend some quality time together making Angel ornaments.
Begin by cutting one strip of ribbon 3-4" long, and fold like you would to make a fan then glue the top together while spreading the bottom out, this will become the skirt of the Angel.
Next cut 2-3" long strip of ribbon and fold like a fan, but instead of gluing at the top you will want to glue the middle and spread out the sides and then glue the center to the top of the skirt, this will be your wings.
To make a hanger cut a piece of thin 1/8" ribbon and loop it and glue it to the center back of your wings then add some feathers to the back with a dab of glue.
For the head you can use a pom pom of any color, although I prefer the natural colors.
Glue your pom pom to the top of your Angel.
To make the face I just glued to small Rhinestones for eyes and used puffy paint for nose and mouth.
At the front of the Angel where the dress meets the wings glue on a craft flower or jewel.
Feel free to get creative and make it your own, add arms, hair or a halo, I did mine with out for a more simple and modern look.
I hope you will enjoy your cute little Angel ornament as much as I enjoy mine.
Remember you don't have to make just one make as many as you want.
Also these make great gifts for teachers, co-workers and associates.
Below is a list of materials you will need to complete this Angel ornament, all of which can be found at any craft store.
