How to Paint Multi-Colored Laminate

    • 1). Remove the screws that are securing the hinges to the cabinet doors with the screwdriver. Set each door aside after removing it from the cabinet.

    • 2). Set the first door on the floor in your garage outside on the ground. Sand the surface of the cabinet with the hand-held sander. Wipe the sanding dust off of the cabinet with a damp cloth. Repeat this step with the remaining cabinet doors.

    • 3). Apply a coat of primer to each of the cabinets with the paint roller. Allow at least an hour for the primer to dry.

    • 4). Apply the coat of paint that you want to use for the border to the cabinets. Apply the paint evenly with the roller. Allow at least four hours for the paint to dry.

    • 5). Place strips of painter's tape to the edges of the doors to mask off the border. Apply the second color of paint to the doors with the roller.

    • 6). Allow the paint to dry for at least an hour and then slowly peel away the painter's tape. Allow the paint on the doors to fully dry.
