Early Morning Anxiety

    Rushing

    • Beginning the day by scrambling from bed late sets the stage for an early morning anxiety attack. Prepare for your day the night before, wake up a few minutes early and give yourself time to think in the morning.

    Lack of Sleep

    • Lacking the energy to face the day, anxiety will surely meet you first thing in the morning. Try taking a warm bath, going to bed earlier and turning off all lights when you go to sleep. A calming drink with magnesium may also help you sleep.

    Mirror

    • Try attaching notes to your mirror with positive confessions about your day. Read them aloud each morning until you start believing them.

    Exercise

    • Morning exercise boosts your mood and energy level throughout the day, making it easier to deal with the pressures of a new day. Try not to exercise at night, since it takes your body a while to slow down before bed, causing restless sleep.

    Therapy

    • If symptoms persist, see a doctor. Behavioral therapy has produced unarguable results.
