How to Use a GPRS in a Mobile

    • 1). Call the customer care department of your network provider, and tell them to activate GPRS on your phone. They will ask you for your cell phone number and cell phone model. Also, tell them that you want to subscribe to a data plan.

Mostly, they are able to send you GPRS settings straight to the phone via SMS, which can be saved automatically to access the Internet. However, if your carrier asks you for manual configuration, see the steps below.

    • 2). Access the "Data Accounts"/"Internet Accounts" of your phone. Mostly, you have to go to the "Menu," "Device Manager"/"Connections," "Internet," then "Data Accounts."

    • 3). Make a new account, and specify the required details. For instance, if your phone is on T-Mobile network, you will specify "216.155.165.050" as "Primary IP Address," leave "Secondary IP Address" blank, specify "wap.voicestream.com" as "APN name," then specify "GPRS" as both "Data Bearer" and "Profile Name." Leave "Username" blank, type "Data" as "Bearer" and specify "http://wap.myvoicestream.com" as "Homepage."

All these settings are provided to you by your carrier when you call them to get GPRS activated.

    • 4). Go to "Menu" of your phone, and navigate to the "Web Browser." Enter any address in the address bar to load it.
