  There were two Honda CB450 motorcycles produced in 1982: the Honda CB 450SC Nighthawk and the Honda CB 450T Hawk. The two motorcycles had only minor differences; both came with a 447 cc engine. The Hawk was just two kg heavier than the Nighthawk. Both bikes can be classified as beginner or economy/commuter motorcycles.
  
  

Engine and Transmission

• The 1982 Honda CB 450 Nighthawk and Hawk were powered by four-stroke, parallel twin-cylinder engines with SOHC valvetrain configuration and two valves per cylinder. A 75 mm bore and a 50.6 mm stroke, together with a 9.1 to 1 compression ratio, defined the piston power. At 9,000 rpm, the engine delivered 45 horsepower, or 32.8 kilowatts. Both motorcycles were equipped with a six-speed transmission.
  
  

Suspension and Brakes

• The Honda CB 450SC Nighthawk and the Honda CB 450T Hawk had identical suspension and brake systems. They had a telescopic forks front suspension, with 124.5 mm of wheel travel, and a swing arm rear suspension, with a 97 mm rear wheel travel. Both bikes had single 272 mm disc front brakes and 140 mm drum rear brakes.
  
  

Other Specifications

• The Nighthawk was equipped with a 100/90-19 front tire and a 130/90 rear tire, whereas the Hawk came with a 3.25-19 front tire and a 120/90-18 back tire. The lighter Nighthawk weighed 178 kg, or 391.6 lbs., while the heavier Hawk had a weight of 180 kg, or 396 lbs. The Nighthawk had a bigger fuel tank, measuring 3.7 gallons, compared to the Hawk's 13 L, or 3.4-gallon, tank.
