WordPress 3.0 Beta 1 Review

What can I say other than kudos WordPress! I've been using the WordPress platform for at least 5 years now and must say that this is by far the best version ever.
It's new navigation menu option is a welcome addition with WordPress 3.
0.
The new menu option offers the possibility of adding not only your pages to the navigation bar but also your posts, categories, as well as any custom page you desire! Needless to say how long I've been searching for that option in a plugin from WordPress.
Another great benefit that is really useful to my applications is the fact of having a custom page already included within WordPress 3.
0.
No need to design your own custom page anymore.
Just select the one-columm.
php page from the theme editor and you're all set! This is assuming you are using the theme "TwentyTen" which is it seems the default theme in WordPress 3.
0 Beta1.
Other great benefits of WordPress 3.
0 is the fact that you can easily add a custom header.
Gone is the cropping of an image to fit a desire header image size.
Gone is the ftp uploading of the image.
And gone is the need to recode the header.
php file to display your new header image.
WordPress 3.
0 takes care of that for you and very easily I might add! One of the most important benefit in my opinion is how WordPress 3.
0 is much more SEO friendly.
Before WordPress 3.
0 you had to recode the header as to make it more SEO optimized.
Now your home page automatically gives you an H1 tag to your title, and on all other pages or posts an H1 tag.
Every page or post title can be optimized for search engines without have to add that same title to the navigation bar.
Before WordPress 3.
0 I had to do a rename H1 to have an optimized title and to keep my navigation tab small.
A good example is on my website Beachfront Jobs, I want to display "Europe" on my navigation tab but I want my page title to be a H1 title "Timeshare Jobs In Europe".
Now it's all very easy to accomplish with WordPress 3.
0.
Let's talk about plugins.
With the new version of WordPress, I was able to reduce my plugin usage of 19 down to 8 plugins.
The fact that the new navigation menu actually eliminates the use of plugins for page order or page links, makes WordPress much lighter.
The official release of WordPress 3.
0 will be in May 2010 and I hope it will be as great as the Beta1 version.
WordPress 3.
0 Beta1 version is available to try out if you use Simple Scripts in your cpanel.
