No Bikini Required: Nude and Topless Beaches in Mexico
Hoping to enjoy your Mexican vacation in the buff? Here is the low-down on topless, nude and clothing optional beaches and resorts in Mexico.
All beaches in Mexico are federal property and nudity is not officially sanctioned, however in practice you will find that there are many beaches where topless and nude sunbathing and swimming take place. There are some nude and clothing optional resorts, or if you prefer, you can find remote and secluded spots where you can sunbathe and swim in your birthday suit with no one else the wiser.
Topless Beaches and Resorts
Topless sunbathing along the beaches of the Riviera Maya is not uncommon. There are a few resorts where topless sunbathing is accepted.
Temptation Resort Cancun and Temptation Resort Los Cabos
The Temptation resort in Cancun is an adult-only all-inclusive with seven outdoor jacuzzis and three swimming pools. One of the swimming pools is where most of the fun takes place, with sexy games and activities. All pools are topless-optional.

Nude Beaches and Resorts
Zipolite
A town situated on the Pacific coast in Oaxaca state, not far from Huatulco, Zipolite is popular with a hippie and backpacker crowd and is also known for drug use. The beach at Zipolite is known as a nude beach, although most who go bare usually stick to the far ends of the beach. The waves are very strong on this beach and swimming can be dangerous.
Hidden Beach Resort Au Naturel Club
Located in Kantenah on the Riviera Maya, approximately one hour south of Cancun, Hidden Beach is an upscale, luxurious, all-inclusive nude resort. Here you will find a completely uninhibited environment where guests participate in a wide range of activities with no clothes, from sunbathing to dining and dancing. There is nude sunbathing on the beach as well as a variety of beach activities and games.

Playa Sonrisa
The motto of Playa Sonrisa is "All you need is your smile." Located on the Costa Maya, south of the Mayan Riviera, in Xcalak, Playa Sonrisa is a casual clothing-optional paradise, a good choice for couples who want to get away from it all.

Cabanas Copal
This is a rustic, clothing optional eco-hotel with no electric lights, located in the tropical jungle of the Riviera Maya. One of the few clothing-optional facilities that is not adult-only, Copal is a good option for naturist families.

A clothing-optional B&B on Soleman Bay, located between Akumal and Tulum on the Riviera Maya, Villa Dolce Vita is a luxury villa that offers accommodation in two guest rooms in a casita located directly on the beach. The private nature of the villa and its beach allows for topless or nude sunbathing and swimming, and the hosts are naturist-friendly.

Punta Serena Villas and Spa
This is one of the few clothing-optional resorts on Mexico's Pacific coast. Located in Tenacatita, Jalisco, about 45 minutes from the Manzanillo airport, Punta Serena is an all-inclusive resort with a clothing-optional private beach, topless-optional swimming pool, sun lounge and two outdoor clothing-optional hot tubs overlooking the bay.
