Lush Artificial Shrubbery Renovation: Desirable Education

Watering Your Plants

Though you do not have to have a green thumb in order to keep a home plant alive, it is good to know how much water intake is necessary to sustain them. One of the most common mistakes that you can make with the home plant is giving it too much water. One problem with overwatering is that it washes out necessary nutrients from your plants soil. Overwatering your plant can also cause the roots to rot. A great solution to keep your plants healthy and well watered is to look in your home decor gardening section; they will have a lot of plant waterers. These rather simple mechanisms are regulated by air pressure within the soil; water is naturally drawn from the bulb into the soil when it starts to get dry.

Cleaning is Just as Essential

The whole point of interior decorating is to make our houses look beautiful and feel comfortable to live in. Of course, finding time to do all we need to do is a big issue. If you are like me, half the battle in your home is just keeping it tidy and organized, let alone getting around to the next interior design project. A couple of pointers: First, make a list of all the cleaning jobs around the house that need happen a few times a year, and make a schedule so you to a couple a month rather than getting stuck doing them all week long several times a year. Another time-saving strategy is to make sure the rest of the family is helping you! Not only is it their responsibility, too; having everyone help frees a lot of your time and makes you a lot more fun to be around. One more tip is to use labels wherever it is convenient. Knowing where everything is, or goes, not only keeps things organized longer, it also keeps you from wasting time looking for things.

The Pros and Cons for Live and Artificial Plants

A decision to make as you decorate your home is whether you want to use silk plants and flowers or real ones. There are some great pros and cons to each option. When considering real plants, you want to make sure that the plant can get sunlight and water. Real plants naturally attract insects, which could be a problem where you are living. On the other hand, real plants give you a sense of satisfaction when you take care of them, and you feel a little greener. Silk or artificial plants are great for storage when you are not using them, such as wreaths or seasonal items. They also are lighter and easier to move. The most important consideration to be careful of with artificial plants is how true to life they look. You dont want someone to walk into the room and instantly know that it is a fake tree or plant. You want it to catch their eye, make them walk up and feel the leaves before they realize that it is artificial. If your visitors believe that the artificial plants in your home are real, you have done a great job!

How to Preserve Flowers from Special Occasions

Special events such as weddings, graduations, church ceremonies, dances, and even special birthdays are days you will always want to rememberand a great way to preserve that memory is by drying the flowers used on that day. Because flowers wilt within 2 to 3 weeks (and sometimes closer to 2 to 3 days), you will need to dry them once they are done being displayed. Two techniques for preserving flowers lead to two totally different looksbut neither is difficult to do. The first is to hang the flower(s) upside down. However, it is important to keep a few things in mind: moisture and light are enemies to a perfectly dry flower, so hang your flowers in a cool, dry, dark place. Also, dried flowers are very fragile, so to prevent damage we recommend placing them in a case or shadowbox. Another great technique for preserving a flower is to press itbut keep in mind that the end product will be flat. This method works best with very small, thin flowers or the individual flower petals of larger, shapelier flowers.
