- 1). Spread old newspapers on your work surface.
- 2). Empty all dishes from the dish rack before lifting the rack from the appliance and placing it on the newspapers.
- 3). Open the plastic bottle of vinyl repair that comes with your kit. The applicator brush is attached to the underside of the bottle cap.
- 4). Apply the vinyl covering compound evenly to exposed metal on the dish rack. Let the compound dry for 30 minutes, then apply additional coats to build up the vinyl covering on the repair.
- 5). Push the rubber caps that come with your kit onto any prongs inside the rack where the vinyl has worn down.
- 6). Replace the rack in the dishwasher and slide it into the appliance.
