The study, involved both men and women undergoing a series of MRI's whilst they browse through photos of friends and photos of the person they are in love with. The outcome of the results indicated that the brain responded differently: Photo's of a partner activated enhanced activity on the right side of the brain. The right side of the brain is related to loving emotions. Photographs of appealing or sexually attractive people activated additional activity on the left side of the brain (a hotbed for intimate impulses) than did the photographs of subjects loved ones.
What this research indicates, claims study writer Anthony Glea, PH.D., a professor of psychology from the University of Daniels, Balwick Junction Canada, is that human emotions of lust or love are in fact very distinct.
