Saving Money on Vacuum Bags

Vacuum bags are the scourge of housewives everywhere.
Short of switching to a bag less vacuum (which I do recommend, it makes it easier and suction does not go down as the bag fills) there are a few things you can do to reduce spending on cleaner bags.
I am going to start with the most drastic first.
You can actually re-use vacuum bags.
Now why you would do this escapes some, but suffice to say it is not only the price.
You are also reducing waste.
On the other hand this is probably not covered by warranty.
Who wants to walk into the Denver Hoover repairs shop and say "hey I broke this bag all over trying to re use it.
Empty the bag carefully.
This is actually the easy part.
Now you have to reseal it in a way where it wont just explode.
You want to start with a new bag.
First duct tape a side with strip of duct tape.
This is to strengthen it because now we are going to cut a slit in the duct tape to put in your vacuum hose.
Remember taking apart your vacuum could void your warranty and send you to the Denver Hoover repair shop.
Do not slit all the way.
Then tape your hose to the vacuum with duct tape.
A more realistic way is to just buy discount bags on the internet.
All the usual suspects sell bags for less than the hardware store.
If you are one of those crazy housewives that like to stockpile everything, then you can ask for wholesale rates on a bunch of vacuum bags.
Personally seeing that many cleaning products and knowing that I had to use all of them would put me in a depression.
Of course you could get into the bag reselling business.
The problem with buying online is that you never really know what you are getting until it arrives in the mail.
Even in the store, discount vacuum bags may have models listed that they service, but again you never know until you open the package.
For the best service go to a vacuum dealer or a Denver appliance repairs shop.
These guys deal with vacuums, fans belts hoses and bags every day.
Interestingly the most performed service is a belt replacement on vacuums.
However the belt does not actually have anything to do with suction in most models.
It usually powers wheels or the rotary brush.
The brush is important on carpet because it helps the vacuum get deep down particles, but it is not essential to proper vacuum operation.
