Tennis Equipment Information

    Rackets

    • Tennis rackets vary in sizes from mid-size to oversize heads with a sweet spot designed for ideal ball striking. Stringing your racket with tighter strings will increase control and spin creation.

    Shoes

    • Tennis shoes give ankle support without limiting ankle movement and have soles that grips the court or helps it slide as on grass. Shoes with excellent arch support help with the sudden stops and stops while playing tennis, helping make movement more efficient.

    Court with Net

    • Tennis courts can be made of clay, grass or hard surface and are 78 feet long and 36 feet wide with the play area divided by a net. Nets should be 42 inches at the posts and 36 inches in the center.

    Balls

    • Tennis balls are made of a hollow rubber inside covered with felt. They are pressurized and lose their bounce after being played with and exposed to the elements.

    Accessories

    • Clothing should allow easy movement and help absorb sweat away from the body. Racket bags, vibration dampeners and grip covers are other popular accessories but are not required for a fun game of tennis.
