Christmas Gifts for Daddy

    "Daddy and Me" Frame

    • A child can make their own gift for their father with this frame. Buy a plain wooden frame. Sand the frame, and then use sealer on it. Have your child paint the frame and decorate it. Decorate it with wooden accents that can be found at craft stores. The accents come in many shapes and themes. Help your child glue the accents on with wood glue. Put a picture of the child and father in the frame. Wrap the present and place it in a safe spot. Remove the glass before decorating to avoid glue and paint on the glass.

    Floppy Disk Photo Can

    • Use old floppy disks to make a holder for office supplies. Use hot glue to glue four floppy disks together to make a stand up square. Glue one floppy disk to the bottom. Allow the cube to dry. Glue a small picture to the outside of the four standing floppy disks. Wrap the cube up carefully. Put newspaper in the middle and put it in a bag. This cube stores paper clips, staples, pencils, tacks or other supplies.

    Snow globe

    • Use baby food jars to create a snow globe. Have a child paint the cap black or brown. Tape a small photo upside down on the outside of a jar. After the lid dries, let the child pour glitter and a few small beads in the jar. Fill the jar with water. Screw the lid on tightly. Spread a little bit of hot glue around the lid to seal it. Turn it upside down, and the glitter acts as the snow.

    Handprint T-Shirt

    • Use a child's handprints to make a T-shirt. Wash a white T-shirt. After it dries, stuff a piece of cardboard in the shirt. The cardboard should sit right under the painting area. Pour different colors of fabric paint on to paper plate. Dip the hand in the paint. Another option is to paint the hands with a brush. Set the hand straight down on the shirt. Lift straight up. Make a design with the handprints or write a message with a fabric marker. For twist, use footprints. This is a good gift for siblings to make together.
