Sources of Pure Glucose
- Powdered forms of pure glucose are added to water, which is then drunk. They are meant to raise blood sugar levels.
- Gel forms of pure glucose are generally in tubes and given to a diabetic or hypoglycemic to bring up their blood sugar very quickly, even if the person is unconscious.
- Tablet forms of pure glucose raise blood sugar levels fast. However, the person who takes the tablet must be coherent enough to chew it.
- Pure glucose can be found in liquid forms as well, but is not as readily available as other forms of pure glucose.
- In order for glucose to be pure, it must not contain anything else, including flavoring. The only exception to this is water.
