- 1). Select a range that mixes both black and stainless steel. Some styles have stainless fronts and a porcelain-baked black top. The trim and knobs are black.
- 2). Pick a black dishwasher and apply stainless steel contact paper to the door using a 4-inch putty knife. Trim off the excess with a utility knife. This will allow the dishwasher to be two-toned as well.
- 3). Choose a stainless steel refrigerator that has black handles and fittings. You can custom order the handles you prefer with your appliance.
- 4). Purchase a black microwave oven that has stainless steel features, knobs or handles. Or select one that you can add contact paper trim to in order to give it the two-tone look.
- 5). Bring other elements of both stainless and black into your kitchen design such as cabinet hardware, faucets, sinks, counter top colors and back splash colors. Keep in mind that you can paint stainless hardware with metal spray paint. In this way you can add a band of black to stainless hardware.
