York County, New York City Bus Trips

York County is located in the southeast region of Pennsylvania about 150 miles from New York City. The largest towns in this county include York and Hanover, and many local bus companies based in these urban centers run regular trips to New York. Whether travelers are planning a day sightseeing and shopping or commute to the city for work, there are plenty of choices between bus services from York County. - The luxurious motorcoaches of Wolf's Bus Lines, based in the York County town of York Springs, runs day trips to New York. All buses are equipped with restrooms and televisions and provide plenty of luggage storage space. The family-run company has been in business for more than 60 years. As of October 2010, travelers can choose from two different tours to New York; one provides transportation only for a day in New York City, and the other includes transportation plus tickets to a Radio City Rockettes show.
- Bieber Trailways runs a scheduled service between York and New York City that runs through other Pennsylvania towns. The route is served by three services to the city and back on weekdays and two on weekends and public holidays, and the journey takes approximately four hours from the center of York. The company has run trips in New England since the 1940s, and all coaches are equipped with restrooms and radios while many now have televisions installed, too.
- Lincoln Bus Lines was established more than 60 years ago and provides day trips to cities such as Washington, New York and Atlantic City. The company's one-day shopping trips to New York run at least once a month, and travelers also can enjoy a sightseeing trip to the city that includes stops at Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. The pick-up points for the tours are in Hanover and York, and riders depart early in the morning and returns about 10 to 11:30 p.m. to maximize the time visitors have in New York.
