How to Do Bluetooth on an HTC With AT&T
- 1). Place the device you want to connect your HTC smartphone to into pairing, or discoverable, mode. The exact process will depend on the type of device, but most devices can get into pairing mode through the "Bluetooth" menu. For devices that don't have a menu system, like Bluetooth headsets, some will automatically enter pairing mode when you turn them on, while others will require you hold down a combination of buttons. Consult your product documentation for specific instructions for your device.
- 2). Tap the "Menu" key on the front of the AT&T HTC smartphone, then tap the "Settings" option that appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap "Wireless and networks" from the menu that appears. Finally, tap "Bluetooth settings" to access the "Bluetooth" menu.
- 3). Tap "Bluetooth" at the top of the menu to turn on Bluetooth technology. If that entry already has a green check mark next to it, skip this.
- 4). Tap "Scan for devices" near the bottom of the "Bluetooth" menu. After a few moments, a list of nearby Bluetooth devices will appear at the very bottom of the menu. You may need to scroll down the menu to see all of the options.
- 5). Tap the device you want to pair with. Enter in a 4-digit passcode to create the connection. For most smartphones and portable devices, you can enter in any passcode you want, but you will need to enter in the exact same passcode on both devices. For Bluetooth devices that don't have a keyboard, you will need to enter in the code specified by the device manufacturer. Almost all devices have a default code of "0000," but if that is not working, you will need to consult your device's documentation. Tap "OK" on your HTC device to complete the pairing.
- 1). Press the "Menu" button beneath your AT&T HTC smartphone's display. Tap the "Settings" button that appears, then tap "Wireless and networks" on the next screen.
- 2). Tap "Bluetooth settings," then tap "Bluetooth" at the top of the screen to turn on Bluetooth technology. After a few moments, the rest of the buttons on the screen will turn from grey to white. Once that change occurs, tap "Discoverable" to make your HTC smartphone discoverable. You will have 120 seconds to complete your task before your smartphone turns off discoverable mode to conserve your battery. A countdown of the remaining time appears next to the "Discoverable" button.
- 3). Click your Windows 7 "Start" button and choose "Control Panel" from the list of options that appear. Click "Add a Device" under the "Hardware and Sound" category in your "Control Panel." A new window will appear and after a few seconds, all nearby Bluetooth devices will show up in the window.
- 4). Click your HTC smartphone and then click "Next." Compare the six-digit code that appears on the screen with the six-digit code that appears on your HTC smartphone. If they are the same, tap "Pair" on your smartphone and click "Next" on your computer. If they are not the same, select "No" and click "Next" to start over.
- 5). Click "Close" when the confirmation window appears to close the window and complete the Bluetooth connection process.
