How to Build a Hunting Bow
- 1). Cut a shallow notch an inch from the tip of both ends of the wood. You wood should have a diameter of about one to two inches.
- 2). Cut a piece of the nylon cord eight inches shorter that the length of the wood.
- 3). Place the cord into the already-cut notch and tie it tightly.
- 4). Tie a slipknot on the free end of the cord. This is done by making a loop about two inches from the end of the cord, allowing the end of the cord to fall behind the loop and pulling gently to form a pretzel shape.
- 5). Hold the tied end of the wood firmly on the ground and pull the cord, flexing the wood as necessary, to fit the slipknot into the other notch.
- 6). Pull the slipknot until it is secure and tight.
- 7). Wrap a few strips of tape around the center of the bow to add thickness.
